In 2019, as Justin Isom, founder of Last Mile DSP, LLC, prepared to enter the fast-paced world of Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program, he encountered a fundamental challenge: how to create a fair and equitable work schedule for all employees in a business that runs 7 days a week, 10 hours a day, all while navigating work hour limitations. During orientation, it became clear that traditional scheduling models—whether it was four consecutive workdays or front-half/back-half splits—were unsustainable. These approaches put strain on employees, leading to burnout and high turnover, which creates a constant cycle of hiring and scheduling headaches.

Recognizing the need for a balanced, sustainable schedule that could improve retention while stabilizing operations, Justin created 2on2off—a scheduling solution designed to break the burnout-turnover cycle. Built to provide fairness, equity, and predictability for employees, 2on2off promotes work-life balance by offering a rotation of 2 days on, followed by 2 days off. This model ensures that all employees share the load of weekends and holidays equally while also benefiting from regular rest days.
